What factor suncream do you wear in days similar to recently?

My lower arms and legs don’t tend to burn so I don’t put anything on them, but the rest of me I need factor 50 on as I catch the sun so easily. But I can be out in this recent heat for a full day and still be pasty white!

I know this is a good thing in the long run health wise, but it would be nice to have a bit of a tan!

So, what factor do you use? I might drop to spf20, but worried I’ll still burn.

Not much difference between factor 30 and 50 except for length of time you can spend in the sun. You could try 30 first

Annoy · 25/07/2021 20:41

With waterproof spf50 I can spend all day in the sun, in and out of the water too. Without getting burnt.

I will give 30 a go.

I want to find the line between burnt and tanned 🤣

30 on legs and arms, 50 on shoulders, chest and face.

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 25/07/2021 21:07

50 everywhere and that still doesnt work sometimes. Im very fair and have ginger hair.

VladmirsPoutine · 25/07/2021 21:14
  1. And I even have relatively dark skin.
Neondisco · 25/07/2021 21:19

30 minimum. But mostly 50. 50 on my face. I'm pale and don't want sun damage

Neondisco · 25/07/2021 21:19

Sorry als op remember damage isn't just burning.

nonotmenotI · 25/07/2021 21:24

My dd saw dermatology when she was younger due to her skin conditions. They told me never to use 50 on her because the skin can't breathe and to never put it on sunburnt skin either.

We use factor 30.

Imohsotired · 25/07/2021 21:26

50 everywhere for me

Galassia · 25/07/2021 21:29

I’m very dark skinned but year round use 30 on my face and in the summer I use 15 on my body.

FittedSheet · 25/07/2021 21:30

50 on all exposed skin.

yeOldeTrout · 25/07/2021 21:30

Whatever we have in the cupboard that needs using up.

delilahbucket · 25/07/2021 21:32

At this time of year factor 30 unless I'm out for extended periods in which case 50. I have a base tan on my upper body (legs remain translucent regardless) but if it's really hot, even if I'm just in and out, I'll cover in 30 when I get dressed. I only reapply if I'm sat out in it.

BearPear · 25/07/2021 21:34

f50 on face & neck, I like Biore Watery Essence. Nothing on legs, f50 on arms if sitting out and actually “sunbathing”. I am lightly tanned, with naturally fairly pale skin (mum’s a ginger).

HalloHello · 25/07/2021 21:34

I start the summer in factor 30 and reduce to 15 after a few weeks. Always get a good tan.

You really should put something on arms and legs, even if you don't burn, you're still exposing yourself to harmful UV rays.

dementedma · 25/07/2021 22:06

I tan really easily but use 50 on face and 50 or 30 on arms and legs. V rarely burn
