Anyone starting a healthy eating plan this summer?

I’d like to lose 10lbs over the summer (could do with losing a stone or two)
We have a holiday booked at the end of August and I have big meeting at the beginning of September with lots of people who I work with but have never met because of on line working.
My plan is exercise every day, intermittent fasting and no processed foods.
Anyone else?

I gave up with the fast today, unfortunately.
I was getting v snappy and annoyed so I ended up eating I had some porridge, ryvita and hummus and dinner was brown rice salad and a chicken drumstick. Not too bad.

I’m going to try to fast tomorrow. I’m gearing myself up from now. Well, I started my fast from 7. I’ll aim for 20 hrs.

It might not be relevant to you, Lakes but porridge, ryvita, hummus and brown rice are all very high in carbs. The impact on insulin levels might account for the grumpiness..?

I know that when I eat carbs, I do get far hungrier (and hangrier!) than if I've eaten far less carby food x

@WoohooIAmGoingToAGig you are right of course. I do need to wean myself off. I’m a complete bread junkie so my first step was to wean myself off bread but really, I should have gone cold turkey on the carbs.
Bah.

@WoohooIAmGoingToAGig and @LegoCaltrops

With you all the way! I'm similarly stumpy of stature and currently at 11st 1 - heaviest ever. But you're so right, on a relatively small frame a few pounds makes all the difference.

The positive spin on that is that we should see some very positive motivation very quickly!

Only 3hrs left to complete a 20hr fast. I’m trying to stay strong 💪

How did you get on, @LakesAndMountains?

Word to the wise for anyone else struggling on a fast day - do not, under any circumstances, get tempted by these as a "tasty snack".

They're utterly, utterly rank 🤮

I managed my fast. 20 hrs! I had a bit too much to eat though, I think.
This is what I had
Miso soup
Small amount of tomato, mozzarella and avocado salad
Chicken and chickpea curry with rice and veg
Yoghurt and strawberries, 4 small pieces from a bar of dairy milk.

I’ve started my next fast now so that’s all my food til tomorrow afternoon.

@WildRunner I agree! I normally love itsu and the miso soup I had was by them too but that seaweed is horrible.

Having a mega milkshake for breakfast today, as I've got to test lactose for intolerance (I've been off it for a month). Already tested small amounts yesterday but I couldn't think how else I was going to get through 375ml in one go, so I've done oats, chia seeds & a load of frozen strawberries & blended it up in the Ninja. No reaction at all so far. Doing honey next (as I've got it in already).

@WildRunner I love those seaweed thins! If you like salty, have you considered a mug of bovril/marmite/bouillon? Apparently they don't break a fast, as long as you keep it fairly small. And they're comforting, because warm. There's always black coffee & herbal tea too. I always found the spice blends to be stronger tasting, rather than herbs or fruit flavours. Fruit flavours are nice to make & drink cold on a warm day, as a healthier alternative to squash - although they obviously won't taste as strong.

Had a couple of rubbishy days. Weight unchanged though so that's something!

Going shopping this morning because my fridge and cupboards are bare!

Aiming for 2lb loss over the next 7 days. Really looking forward to crossing the next stone barrier over the next week or so!
