Looking to get a yoto player for my just turned 2 year old. Do you think this is an okay age or is she a bit young for it? She absolutely loves books and I'm keen to get her off screens as much as I can!

How is yoto different to an Alexa or other more generic / multi functional device with robust parental controls installed? It seems like a very short lived solution but I may be massively missing the point

My older one loves his, loads of educational cards, great selection of books and we've done quite a lot of MYO cards.
I'm giving my 1yo one for Xmas but at first I'll control through my phone rather than giving him the cards. He loves his brothers yoto.

I'd say the ability to take it wherever he goes around the house or in the garden. The tactile nature of it the controls and the cards. Not having to worry about setting up controls on it. Can be plugged into headphones if wanted. Things like the nightlight are brilliant. I don't think I'd want an Alexa in my kids rooms at all but this he can go to sleep listening to, I have control over volume limiting from my phone and can always control what he's listening to if needed.

@AtillatheHun I like the idea of the cards and them being able to easily control it from a young age. Gives them a bit of independence! I'm hoping it will grow with her for a good few years and be able to take it on holiday/car journeys etc

I think 2 years old is a good starting point. Make sure to get the Adventure Jacket which protects the player and makes it so much easier for kids to carry around.

My two year old has one and she loves it. The cards have all remained in tact and even without the cover the yoto still looks as new a year on!

She loves the songs on the Julia donaldson stories and can now tell you most of her stories off by heart. As fab resource for keeping her entertained while I get on with jobs!

I have also got 10% off if anyone wants a referral code
