Team GB/Great Britain

Can anyone shed any light as to why we changed our country's Olympic sporting name from Great Britain to Team GB? No other country is called 'Team xxx' and I don't like it at all.,

Branding.
Italy is Team Italia I noticed on their jackets or Italia Team, can't remember.

I like it as Team GB

How come it's not Team UK?

Because UK is United Kingdom and Northern Ireland and some NI competitors due to the way the sports are structured, compete for Ireland.

It should be Team UK in my opinion.

I understand that but it still doesn't explain why it's not Team
