Advice from anyone in or been through similar situation:
Had my 20 week re scan and although all look fine I was advised they can only see one of babies kidneys, wasn't told more just referred to FMU.
Really looking for some advice as I feel like I’m slowly loosing my mind during this pregnancy

I’m sorry you’re worrying, it’s so hard during pregnancy isn’t it? I don’t have any experience of this myself but I do have a friend who was born with only one kidney and it’s never harmed her in any way. If that’s the only issue they mentioned there is 1) a chance that they just couldn’t see the second kidney but the better tech/different scan position at FMU will mean it shows up when they look at you, or 2) a strong possibility that your baby will be just fine with a single kidney. This being mumsnet I bet someone will be along with better information or a more directly comparable experience soon! Good luck to you and your little one.

Thank you for your reply, they said they cannot see the second kidney and it may be lying deep in the pelvis, I feel like Iv had worry after worry and I really just want to be able to enjoy as this is my first baby 😢 xx

I was referred to fetal medicine after my 20 week scan as they couldn't see babies stomach. It was very scary and obviously you think the worst, don't Google! You basically just have a way more detailed scan, they got me to lay in all sorts of positions so they could see as much as possible. Although it is a really worrying time, the drs did put me at ease and I felt in really good hands. Hopefully its just hard to see and all will be well.

Thank you so much for your reply, I’m hoping they couldn't see it as apposed to it not being there.
The sonography tech was a bit of a dic and didn’t talk to me at all just that he’s referring me!
I haven’t found out when my appointment will be just have to wait and see
