Waiting on the verdict... handhold please! *[Content warning: concerns childhood sexual abuse]

Waiting to find out the verdict in my childhood sexual abuse case. The trial started on Monday and should (fingers crossed) end today. I'm so on edge and I can't get my mind to engage with anything else, it's been 4 years since I made the report and I'm so desperate for it all to be worth it. Can't help but sit by my phone waiting on the call... just need a handhold and a distraction

Hand holding from afar, this is very close to my heart as my mum went through childhood sexual abuse too. I have everything crossed for a good decision for you. I am currently pinned under a sleeping foster baby, she is 8 weeks old and will sleep nowhere but in the sling during daylight hours.

I've just had a text to say it's looking like it won't wrap up today which feels like the end of the world but I suppose a rushed decision would be worse😕

She's been good for weight loss! Waiting for court decisions is so hard but you are right, hopefully it will be worth the wait.

We have been waiting weeks for the results of DH's latest scans that he had done in June, they finally came today and showed a big reduction in his tumours. The wait has been hellish though so I can empathise a little with your wait. I think it helped me at the weekends to realise that no decisions/results would come at the weekend so there was no point in worrying about things for a couple of days.

We're isolating til next Friday as DD17 has covid. I can't work from home unfortunately so I'm going a bit doolally and have run out of cupboards to clean!

Whatever the outcome, be very proud of yourself for doing what you did. If it comes back as not proven guilty, that doesn't mean you were disbelieved.

It has been a really tough and really long process thanks to covid but I felt so empowered after my cross examination and am glad I reported now. Once I had children I had a lot more sympathy for my child self and couldn't carry it around any longer.
@Livebythecoast we had to isolate last month and my house has never been cleaner so I can relate to that one
