FGS Covid and birthday party

So my daughters 1st birthday was in June, we arranged a small get together of 13 people including us, obviously the 'freedom day' got changed and I ended up getting pinged so we cancelled it, and rearranged it for tomorrow.

Got a call yesterday from nursery (after we brought all the food on Wednesday for the party) that she has a temperature and a cough. Took her to get tested straight away, and currently waiting for the results.

I'm annoyed. We've brought all the food for the party, I've made her cake (again) and I'm torn, my husband wanted me to make a cheese cake. If she gets a negative result tomorrow morning there won't be time to make it, if its positive husband will have to eat all the cake by himself.

Husband also annoying me as 'my family will be so pissed if we cancel again, they won't forgive us' but won't ring and warn them we are waiting for a result. I've already warned my side (6 people).

If we get the result before 10am tomorrow people won't have left.

Stupid virus and stupid husband. I might just sit and eat all the nice bits now out of boredom. I've been back at work for a month and spent 9 work days isolating so far. I'm just annoyed.

Always a chance if in work or covid that things would go pear shaped when arranging an event. I’d just have the food as a party given the birthday was last month and a one year old won’t have a clue what a party is anyway. If your DH wants a cake, he can make it.

Oh I know she won't care, I was all for just not bothering, we definitely won't try a third attempt. She can just spend tomorrow throwing jelly over the garden again.
