Would you send him in?

It's DS1's last day at primary school today. Yesterday was jam packed with activities - there was a leavers party at school followed by a barbecue with the scouts.

He vomited in the night which I'm sure was due to the above. He's not been sick again. Assuming he feels well when he gets up would it be wrong to let him go to school today?

Yes it would be wrong to. Vomiting is an automatic off school. Regardless of suspected reasons.

Yes, you need to keep him off, he’s been sick,

Tandyboe · 22/07/2021 05:50

Sorry you need to keep him home. Mine missed last day of reception for similar reasons but you have to do the right thing.

PabloSlow · 22/07/2021 05:52

Please keep him off

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 22/07/2021 05:56

You're all right. I think I was hoping someone else would say it was ok because I'm gutted for him. But his right for a last day at school doesn't trumpet everyone else's right not to get sick.

i think you know the reason for the vomit it should be ok

Carrott21 · 22/07/2021 06:25

If he's been sick cos you know he stuffed his face and is not actually ill...

I sent DD in after 24 hours as she vomited due to excess at a party then a long car journey on Sunday night. She was off the Monday and right as rain all day, so the school were happy to have her back on the Tuesday. Speak to school this morning and see what they say.

AbsolutelyPatsy · 22/07/2021 06:37

see how he is, what is reaction is to the idea?
if he is bouncing around send him in

TopTabby · 22/07/2021 06:50

TBH my rule used to be if they vomited more than once it was a definite day off school but if it was a one off incident I'd see how they were in the morning. It can be down to excitement & eating too much sometimes. Just watch him closely this morning, you'll know.

Sympathies OP, my kids have missed last days and school tours, it's against school rules for them to go in 24 hours after vomiting no matter what. It generally comes to nothing but actually once it started a 2 week long bug and was relieved after that I hadn't
