WTF IS THIS

This is the second one I've found in my bathroom in two days. I'm absolutely freaking out that it might be a bed bug or some other sort of lice 😩

You haven't given us an idea of size, but that looks like some kind of beetle rather than a bedbug (which are tiny) or a louse.

TanteRose · 22/07/2021 03:29

Yeah a beetle I think - is it dead? Lying upside down?
At first I thought maybe cockroach but roaches DO NOT DIE (shudder)

AutumnOctober · 22/07/2021 03:40

Oh god don't say cockroach!! Yeah this one was dead when I found it, I killed a live one yesterday 😩😭🤮 They're about 4-5mm long

No it doesn’t look like a cockroach to be honest, unless it’s a baby😱
We have had all sorts of bugs in the house the last few days because of the heat wave here and having the windows open wide .

pnutter · 22/07/2021 03:52

Is that upside down

MistySkiesAfterRain · 22/07/2021 03:57

They probably come up the plug or toilet. Maybe put some cleaning solution down the plughole.

Bargebill19 · 22/07/2021 04:39

It’s a woodlouse.

RustyBear · 22/07/2021 05:14

It's not a wood louse, it's a beetle, and probably a harmless one, but impossible to say from that photo. Most likely it's a ground beetle, but there are 4072 species of beetle in the uk so id is difficult. I found one very like that one in my bathroom basin last night. It had probably blundered in through the open window, so I picked it up on a bit of paper & chucked it back out again.

Maybe a vine weevil, they live as grubs in the ground or plant pots until they’re a beetle. Annoying little fuckers as they eat the roots.

LoveFall · 22/07/2021 05:41

Not a wood louse, not a bed bug, and not a cockroach. Some sort of harmless beetle. Not nice in your home but no threat.

IWantAllTheDogsInTheWorld · 22/07/2021 05:45

It's probably just a plaster beetle, they are quite common in bathrooms, they like living in damp rooms.

It does look awfully like a baby cockroach to me

I grew up in FL. It's a cockroach.

lughnasadh · 22/07/2021 07:23

I thought cockroach too. Although 5mm is tiny.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 22/07/2021 07:49

I think it's a weevil sort of thing, lying on it's back - asleep.
