Might sound a daft question but do you use colour pencils - if so what make.

What do you use?

I used colour pencils in the past but they were scratchy and hardly showed up.

Pencils look at the reviews on Amazon and don’t go to cheap Smile

I use good quality felt tip colouring pens, have some finer tips ones for the delicate bits

EishetChayil · 21/07/2021 16:54

Fountain pens with coloured ink. So satisfying.

FrippEnos · 21/07/2021 17:03

black widow wax pencils from amazon

AnneShirleysNewDress · 21/07/2021 17:05

Coloured pencils and fineliners

strawberrydonuts · 21/07/2021 17:29

If your coloured pencils were scratchy and faint then you probably bought cheap ones.

Buy some artist quality ones e.g. Derwent, Prismacolour, Faber Castell, Staedtler etc.

At the very least, something like WHSmith or Crayola will probably be decent but not as good as the above.

Get a decent metal sharpener too as coloured pencils are difficult to sharpen.

You can use felt tips but they might soak through depending on the paper quality and thickness.

Thanks so much for your replies!

I have ordered both the glitter pens and the Black Widow ones (they look super cool!)

Gel pens mostly.

Staedtler ergosoft. Really nice buildable colours and they sharpen well.

Itsabeautifuldaytosavelives · 21/07/2021 18:17

Staedtler fineliners, these ones: www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00VY9U9W0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_50RP4J1YS8YB3ER4NV96?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

They're probably on a par with WHSmith/ Crayola for quality - a lot of gimmicky marketing in the black wood tbh - but will be better than what you've got. Enjoy.
