smelly feet

I swap round my sandals, dry my feet etc. But my sandals pong and so do my feet. It's birkenstock type leather sandals - not plastic.

Any suggestions.

I've got my feet in epsom salts at the moment....

My birkenstocks make me smell too, I wonder if it's the insole. I wipe the insides of my sandals with lavender oil and put them out to air in this heat. You can use deodorant spray or fresh feet spray on your feet.

Well it's not really helpful to you but this ya the main reason I wear socks, so they soak up the sweat and not my shoes. Cork foot beds are notorious for this

I even wear socks around the house with Birdie style, not sure if I could go out the house like that 😅

Birkenstock's style

I'm sure you already do this if you are soaking your feet OP, but in case you do not, make sure you pumice the hard skin as that is what can hold smell and in turn make your shoes smell

Scrub your feet with a brush and a bat of soap- NOT shower gel.

Use a deodorant on your feet and a quick squirt in the shoes too. I wear fit flops and they also reek if I don't do this.

I use the Sure pink spray or the Aldi version depending on which shop I'm in.

Clean your sandals with a toothbrush and bicarbonate of soda made into a paste with a bit of water. You might need to leave it on there for a bit, but it will draw the smell out.

Are you cutting your toenails often enough, and removing dead skin from your feet? Use an antibacterial wash like a bar of Dettol soap or Hibiclens with a brush to really scrub your feet.

I've usually had a proper pedicure by this stage of the summer with a good pummicing. I wonder if that's part of it? I'll book in for one.

Get some Acti Fresh from Boots or Amazon. It kills the bacteria that makes your feet stink!
