Can anyone recommend a good CBT book?

I'm looking for a good book which focuses on strategies to prevent worry escalating. (A doctor recommended this, but annoyingly wouldn't suggest any particular book!) I'm fairly familiar with CBT, but a lot of the material out there doesn't feel relevant to my particular situation. I'm not really a worrier or prone to negative thinking, and I don't have low self-esteem, but at the moment I'm in a situation (a physical illness) which is making me very anxious. I've tried a couple of books, but ended up wanting to hurl them across the room because their approach seems to be 'all your problems are in your head'. Surely CBT can also help when you have problems that are real? What I need are strategies to stay calm and stop anxiety making things worse. Any suggestions? Or am I looking for something that doesn't exist?

CBT doesn’t work for everyone. HCP seem very reluctant to mention that.
