Freak accident, dropped a knife with oven door open and it's disappeared!

I think this is my oven:

Although looks very slightly different. Bought a few years back.

Knife is not on floor or under cooker. I think it's vanished into the area below the oven within the cooker and now I'm scared to use it! The oven at least as I don't wanna short circuit it or something!

Yes I'm a panicker!

Can anyone reassure me in any way?

Really don't want to have to wait weeks before I can use oven again, I've no microwave.

Help!

I haven’t checked the manual but door should come off. If you are nervous, Book an oven cleaner who takes the doors off?! Two birds with one stone 😊

It's not the oven door that's the issue it's a sort of panel BELOW the oven door.

Currys are saying it opens that it's a storage area but for the life of me I could not open it last night will try again today. They're saying either way safe to use but they couldn't even locate exact model he was telling me it was a fan oven which it absolutely isn't

Let’s start with hopefully finding your exact oven. I can’t use your link, sorry. But it will be better to have the exact model anyway. Here’s how to (hopefully) find your oven model number. It shows you where and it’ll be a silver or white tag. Then Google those numbers and hopefully you’ll get the exact manual for your oven. If that’s an issue, take a picture of the tag, post it here, and hopefully we can help you find the manual online.

It's a Currys essentials cfseswh18 or rather it's predecessor which even Currys guy couldn't say

Ok, I think maybe I’ve spotted the problem? Look at this manual. It’s for the CFSEWH14 Essentials. It looks almost exactly the same. EXCEPT. It actually labels that bit under the oven door at the beginning of the manual and calls it the “front flap” and tells you on page 16, “open the front flap to adjust the feet.” But it doesn’t say shite about how (just shows it opening easily). And if there’s some big mystical difference between a 14 and an 18, I don’t know.

Also, wtf are the Curry’s people thinking. I mean, it says there’s nothing on (in the manual) that first oven that opens. It’s like they were just assuming it must have a drawer at the bottom because a lot of ovens do. Sorry, OP - sounds very frustrating.

Graphista · 21/07/2021 21:09

It is! I couldn't get the flap or whatever it is open even trying to pry it open with...another knife Grin cue bent knife so that's 2 knives lost!

From peering through I could see my kitchen floor so I think it's a "decorative" flap? Designed to make the cooker look neater and not as small as it is? Couldn't see lost knife but reassured it's likely not tangled in an element somewhere!

What a palaver!

That looks closer to my cooler but isn't quite right. I have a care plan with them and they STILL couldn't say what cooker it was!

There’s a 16? Older than 18, younger than 14, rofl. And! The flap is decorative on it, so maybe it’s yours. (Might seem pointless now, but eventually you may want to find the knife so having the right manual might be important so you know how to take the oven door off).

Also… have you looked under and behind everything everywhere in the kitchen? Ridiculous question, I know, but sometimes things that shouldn’t bounce do, and they can skid half way across the room. You think something should be inside the oven and then find it under the refrigerator.
