My bed is currently an icy paradise.

I took every water holding, freezable receptacle I could find this afternoon and half filled them all with water and chucked them in the deep freeze.

I've currently got a frozen 2l bottle at my feet, an icy cold 'hot water bottle' under my pillow and a icy bottle of water for sipping on the bedside table.

There's another frozen 2l bottle of water in each child's room for them to cuddle/drink/waft around as they please.

It's just wonderful Grin .

@WASHI - thank you! I'm asking DH to pick one up on his way back from work. Which size is yours?

Bugger, just read that when the recycling lorry had finished the bins and taken away the reusable means to a cool night

@WASHI I bought one a month ago but have yet to get the window adapter thing for the hose so can't really use it. Without seeming absolutely stupid, is there a way around this or are you just better than me?

We didn’t bother with the window adapter in the end. Our bedroom windows open at the top. So we put the aircon up on a storage box from The Range (you know those padded rectangular ones, also sold in Wilko) so that the hose reaches, then we feed the hose out of the window. Last summer I then blocked up the rest of the window using towels but this summer I haven’t been bothered. We just close the curtain around it and it seems to work! Blush

@WASHI That's really interesting...Mine are big sash windows which is why I felt I needed the adapter but I just can't be bothered getting a handyman out! The hose is super wide though - if it wasn't I'd just jam it under the window and do something like you've suggested. I wish there was some kind of extension/letterbox adapter as my bedroom is near the front door of my flat!
