How much for a new kitchen ?

We recently had a flood in our kitchen. We have found out today that our insurance are paying for the whole shoot, bang, jingle to be replaced as we have asbestos in the ceiling (1960s house)
How much might one expect it to cost ? We have a 12 x 10 kitchen and they are replacing the floor, the ceiling (it fell down) and all the units. These consist of a large u shape with base units and wall units plus a back run of tall larder units.
DH's best mate is a chippy and is going to do a quote. The insurance company have advised they will be paying for a full replacement kitchen and will be making a cash payment for it to be completed.
I've no clue how much this might cost. DH usually always does everything himself (he's very good at DIY), my Dad has a amazing discount at the builders merchant he worked for before he retired and we have friends in all trades so we have no clue whatsoever how much a brand new kitchen fully fitted would cost including removal of the old one.
How much did anyone pay for a new kitchen and what did that consist of ?

Wow op!! I'm not sure of the measurements, I'm going for a cheapish kitchen and I expect it to be around 12 grand including labour and new ceiling, floor etc.

You should start booking appointments and get quotes, John Lewis, magnet..

Go to a kitchen planner. Design your dream kitchen (free service). Get the chippy to quote the same again for fitting.

Get him to quote replacing floors/ceiling/adding electrical points.

Send the lot to the insurers.
