Restricting channels on YouTube

Does anyone know whether there's a way that you can allow only certain channels to be visible on YouTube? I'm looking into this for DS. I've downloaded YouTube Kids which seems ok in principle, but there's one channel that DS absolutely loves which isn't available on the kids version. Technically it's a channel aimed at grown-ups (think really geeky hobby, nothing inappropriate for kids at all). But if we let him view it on the grown-up version of YouTube, obviously there's a load of stuff he might end up seeing that we don't want him to, unless we stand over him while he's watching and monitor every click. Any advice gratefully received!

We use an app called SafeVision which allows you to chose specific YouTube channels your kids can watch. It is an annual subscription but worth it.
