I'm in the market for a new one (FINALLY upgrading my iPhone from 2014...as it's become unbearably slow and I cracked the screen last month) but am overwhelmed by options.

Leaning towards the Samsung S9 or S10 (I used to love my S4 back in the day so happy to switch back to Android) - or a recent A series one (is the quality really that much lower?).

I take a lot of amateur photos just for my own use mainly, and use my phone mainly for social media/texting/general browsing. I am not interested in getting the latest model - I just want one which I wouldn't have to upgrade from in a year's time - a nice balance.

I've never used anything other than an iPhone or Samsung so a bit wary of trying a different model (brand loyalty is real!) but if the deal looks particularly good then I could be persuaded.

Tell me about your phone and persuade me to get it

I've just swapped from a Galaxy S10plus. Amazing, really quick, and fantastic camera. Only reason I swapped it was because it was just too big for my hands

Thanks @SantaMonicaPier yes I've got to go in-store to check sizes, as I've got pretty small hands and wouldn't want to go for a plus model.

Would love a fast phone and good camera. Right now even Guardian website won't load for me!

Trying it in person is a great idea. I thought bigger would be better without thinking through practicalities. It wouldn't even fit in a pocket!
