I just want to say I know I am so lucky that they are fit and healthy and I thank my lucky stars everyday. My three dcs seem to have insane amounts of energy which is fine but one issue I notice is that they can't seem to calm down in the evenings or they never seem to run out of steam, they are also very early risers. Absolutely nothing works to change this, we have lived in other European countries and adapted and kept them up late, regardless they would wake at 6am or even earlier!
Yesterday a neighbour commented on how much energy they had, this is not subtext for badly behaved or noisy , they were happily playing football on the green area on their own, this followed a summer camp of 6 hours in very hot weather, its an athletic type camp so constant exercise, they then really wanted to play with their friends after I had cooled them down so another two hours constant running. We then went swimming in the evening as it was too hot, they were still running around the place in the evening and totally full of energy. I do sometimes think the energy could be overtired but in winter when they don't get as much exercise or as busy its still quite similar and with the same early starts. They are able to get up and read etc and don't make loads of noise in the mornings but they'd never go back to sleep and none have slept past 8am ever.....
I think my question is , is it unusual for kids to not get tired, I realise from when they were babies there were no tired hints from them ever and they never get quiet or want to chill at all. They are all doing well in school and can concentrate.
I am quite a calm person and really encourage other things too like art , reading, play , yoga but they would bounce off the walls if stuck inside for long and tbh aren't really interested in these activities. It's a bit exhausting if I'm honest... and it also makes events kindof difficult as they just don't calm and want to keep moving until they are in bed and they take time to wind down. I do get that it could be overtiredness also but we try and settle them earlier but in hot weather it's difficult. Just wondered if others had a similar experience
