So I am currently trying to sort life insurance and crit illness and income protection. Not sure what is normal, and what others generally pay. I am early 30s in good health, earn around 100000/yr and been quoted almost £100/m for lump sum £500000 on death, £30000 for crit illness, and income protection for half salary if unable to work. Would love to hear what others are doing/pa ying as I am lost!!

I'm paying £10 a month but just to cover my remaining mortgage (so it's a decreasing term one), starting at just over 200k

You will get a cheaper monthly rate if you go through an online broker which costs £25. Recommend you read this article www.moneysavingexpert.com/insurance/cheap-life-insurance/

I would really go through a broker for life and critical illness cover, I don't think they're entirely necessary for mortgages, but life insurance I do, there are so many pitfalls. They will usually ask how much you want to pay and find the best cover for your circumstances and budget.
