Hi lovelies my sister is in year 11 and has just been told her prom will be going ahead despite her thinking it would be cancelled. She doesn't have a prom dress sorted, she is a larger girl despite being sporty and is around a UK16 she hasn't given much thought to it and it is in the next few weeks, we've never spent too much on prom dresses , maybe no more than 50-100 pounds as its a one time wear and she's about 5'8 any suggestions would be great , thankyou x

Do you know a dressmaker?

Have a look on ebay and in charity shops - particularly in 'posher' area, I lived in Oxford and got ball gowns from charity shops.

I also got a long red dress from ebay that had been worn once as a bridesmaid's dress.

Have a look at bridesmaid dresses as well as prom dresses.

I she wants a long dress have a look at sari shops.

My dd has just been in the same position of last minute prom. She ordered from Silkfred they have a range of dresses up to size 20. Hers was about £80

DD got her dress from a Prom Shop that was selling off the rail but when we were looking Next had a really good range of dresses under £100.

If you filter it to women's dresses and prom there's loads to choose from.
