That's all just speculation/clickbait.

Homeontherangeuk · 19/07/2021 19:33

Just saw this article, would be surprised if he went. William & Kate seem very grounded & it looks like he settled very well in Thomas's....

He probably will go to a boarding school, most royals do.

Both Kate and William went to boarding school.

I'd be surprised if he didn't tbh.

His current school has only just opened the senior school. Until this year it was a prep school only feeding into the other london senior day schools and boarding schools nationally.

I personally would not want my child to be part of an evolving cohort in a senior school just finding it's way.

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 19/07/2021 19:39

This is an absolute nothing article. It doesnt say anything of substance.

I thought it was a given he'd be going.

Justajot · 19/07/2021 19:40

Hasn't boarding school at such a young age gone out of fashion? I wouldn't expect him to go at 8, just because his dad did.

I didn't realise Thomas's was just a prep that means Charlotte will also be moving on in a couple of years... I really enjoy their photos, they look like such lovely well rounded kids.

Prep goes up to age 13 Hmm

Oh, absoutely.

Much better he go into professional full time care by total strangers, than risk an evolving cohort.

I look forward to them as well.

He'd be moving elsewhere at 13 anyway surely? Eton or Marlborough presumably like his parents.
Didiusfalco · 19/07/2021 19:47

This article is complete fluff, we can guess he might go to boarding school at some point based on who he is and the fact his parents did, there’s no actual information here.

newnortherner111 · 19/07/2021 20:11

I hope not as to me it is like being in prison with privileges, school 24/7 in a way.

Homeontherangeuk · 19/07/2021 20:42

It will be interesting to see where they will go... Alot of journalists (& mumsnetters!) were very surprised when they chose Thomas's for George & Charlotte following after.... They were expected to choose single sex schools

OP posts:
EdithWeston · 19/07/2021 20:48

I expect they'll keep them where they are until 13+ transfer.

We'll find out idc

00100001 · 19/07/2021 20:51

I would have thought it would hinge in how many duties/engagements that K&W would have to do... Presumably it's going to jump right up now H has buggered off, and will again when E pops her clogs.

But then , maybe they'll just be day kids and crack on with it. It's not like there's centuries of tradition. Going to school was only a recent thing. It was "groundbreaking" when W went to school when he was a wee lad.

So... we'll have to all wait and see.

Oh, you have lots of direct experience of many boarding schools then?
Bluntness100 · 19/07/2021 20:57

What a daft article. 😂

PatsyJStone · 19/07/2021 21:35

Hahaha. Prison is nothing like Boarding school

HandforthParishCouncilClerk · 19/07/2021 21:37

@newnortherner111 did you go to boarding school?

Only recently. They used to be homeschooled.
RickOShay · 19/07/2021 21:43

Grin @PicsInRed

Clawdy · 19/07/2021 23:07

All the Queen's children went to boarding school, in the 1950s, so not that recently.

SemperIdem · 19/07/2021 23:20

I imagine the children will board at some point, though probably not as young as 8. Both parents boarded.
