Hi wise people of mumsnet wondering if I can get some advice?
Will be traveling at weekend from Penrith to fort William area
It’s about 4.5 hrs by looking at Google maps is that about right. ??

Where would be good to stop for about 1.5 hours to swap drivers stretch legs and eat??

I’ve looked on maps but there’s obviously a lot of choices and not sure where would be best

I was thinking probably best to get past Glasgow and then stop?

Thank you so much for any guidance !!

Assuming you're driving up the A82, I'd stop somewhere on Loch Lomond, probably Luss. There's a coffee shop or restaurant if you want a proper stop off and a decent path along the lake shore to stretch legs. www.seelochlomond.co.uk/discover/luss

Cameron also a good place to stretch legs, but not so much if you are looking for refreshments.

This is also a useful guide to what facilities you'll find where like toilets/car parks www.lochlomond-trossachs.org/park-authority/covid-19-coronavirus/car-parks-visitor-facilities/

Luss can be really really busy, we had a lovely lunch today at the Drovers inn in the same road (I love this place) www.droversinn.co.uk/

Firkin Point for a picnic, lovely ( but probably busy)
