Will I get the job?

Just for fun - I've just had a zoom interview for a job that I think I would be perfect for. The bonus is that it is good money, flexible working hours and in an interest right up my street.

The interview went well and I managed to answer all of the questions, I was prepared with notes I'd already taken.

If I'm successful I'll hear by 5pm this afternoon.

My gut feeling is I haven't got it

You're all far more positive than I am I think they will interview someone more suitable than me. I did give it my best shot though.

I'm doubting myself now - even though I think I answered everything correctly that they asked. I'm not sure if I didn't elaborate enough with my answers.

Still have the gut feeling that I did ok but they'll have interviewed someone else with more knowledge

It's pretty much 5pm and no phone call so I guess I was unsuccessful!

@doublejabbed - did you get it? I went through 2nd interview and was expecting phone call today. There's something better awaiting for us if this doesn't work out 😜

I'm presuming I didn't get it. I had no phone call by 5pm. I won't lie I am a little bit gutted I wasn't successful, a job like that won't come along again.

It will or something even better will come along. Life is full of surprises.

They should all you either way! Fingers crossed for you and they call you as the successful candidate in the morning.

The lady interviewing me said they were making their decision by 5pm and if I didn't hear anything by then I was unsuccessful, so I don't think I'll hear anything today. Back to the drawing board!

It doesn't mean you weren't great for that job, it just means someone else as good came along. Try again.

That's pretty rubbish. They should tell you either way, it's not fair to leave someone hanging with "Silence equals rejection".There should be a phone call to you, regardless of the outcome.

I agree with PP I think it's unprofessional of them to not ring you either way.

So unprofessional not to call. Also an indication of how they treat their staff so chalk it down to a near miss!!
