Clever hacks / tips for dealing with difficult people / situations (mainly family)

Can we share tips for dealing with difficult people, essentially members of my family (that I live with) who I am pulling my hair out with.

Things like not putting their shoes away (I now put them in the garage when I trip over them and it inconveniences them to have to go find them). I shouldnt have to do this but repeatedly telling them / having the dog chew them was getting too much.

I have seem tips to get children to eat better previously which were quite clever (fortunately I haven never had this problem).

I am just fed up of repeating myself and having to ask people time and time again. It feels as though if there are no consequences for other people they just dont bother.

The more clever (ie nudge theory / behavioural science) the better please! I have seen things in the past but can remember where to look now.

Your shoes tip is good. I don't have any to add but any tips on getting children to eat their food and sit at the table are very welcome.
