Been let down with deliveries by two supermarkets today

I had a Tesco order to arrive this afternoon. Got a text this morning to say they would not be able to do it. No reason given.
Quickly ordered an Asda delivery for tonight and it hasn't turned up. No message, no nothing. But the amount is showing as pending in my account.
Has anyone else had this? I'm shattered and I've stayed up for nothing.

So sorry OP. Hope you are going to be ok to sort food out?
I think it’s inevitable given the huge volume of people self isolating at present that many work places will be limiting service due to staff absence Sad.

I can go shopping tomorrow. This isn't a thread about me not having food. Just in case you meant that, but thanks for the reply. Don't have anything fresh though as we got back late last night from holiday.
I understand it could be due to that - but why not text at least - and why take my money?

In fact I do just have enough for another shop while they reimburse me - but it will be a very strict shop. The fact that they have said nothing but still taken my money is what has made me angry and it will probably take a few days for that money to get back into my account.

I’m really sorry op. Supermarkets are on there knees with staff isolating. This weekend has been horrendous in store. No staff, low stock and absolutely rammed

They need to stop taking deliveries they can't fulfil then rather than shafting people. What if OP didn't have the money to do another shop?

Thanks for your messages. Made me slightly less angry. Might pop to a shop very early in the morning before DP goes to work to get some essentials and avoid the crowds. I'm not blaming staff isolating or anything like that, just the lack of communication.
I'm going to grumble into my pillow now.

Tesco have been horrendous for us recently. Every single delivery has turned up late for the last two months. The one I ordered last week said it would be late then never showed up at all. When they eventually got in touch the next day, they weren’t aware whether I’d had it or not Confused I hadn’t so they refunded me. Then a few hours later it arrived.
Loads of stuff not available for this mornings delivery either and my prawns which were supposed to be chilled turned up frozen. First world problem I know but I’m not sure whether they’re safe to eat now.

I waited and waited one evening, then when I checked I realised I had ordered for the following week, have you double checked the date Sad

shouldbeironing100 · 18/07/2021 23:19

Definitely for tonight. Yes, I'm still here chuntering away to myself. Big scheme of things, this it not a problem, but it is annoying.
Goodnight people

I had this with an Asda delivery few months ago. Waited up and it didn't arrive. Complained straight away and was told they had tried to deliver but we weren't in! We had been in all day/night. Shopping then turned up first thing the following day
