What drink to take if no alcohol?

We've made new friends who have invited us over for supper. They don't drink alcohol. What would be nice drinks to take for them as we'd usually take beer, wine and fizz? We'll take fizzy mineral water to drink with the meal, I was thinking more something 'gifty' that they might enjoy drinking in the garden on a hot evening. We have all major supermarkets nearby. I don't want to buy anything online as needed soon. Thanks

I'm not taking flowers as they are going away shortly after. I won't take chocolates either because of the heat.

Something by Bottlegreen or Belvoir.

I don’t drink alcohol and I’d be v happy if you brought a bottle of sparkling elderflower or similar. If you want to give them something more gifty, you could go for a bottle of AF spirits (like Seedlip or 0% Gordon’s) which is a treat but there’s more of a chance they won’t like it and then you’ve wasted £££. I’d be tempted just take some sort of sparkling grown up drink - but unless there are specific reasons, it would be fine to take booze if that’s what you would like to drink yourself?

Yes bottle green, Belvoir, Fever tree, something like that

Nix & Kix is always good (Ocado/Tesco) and a bit different

MissMissTorrance · 18/07/2021 22:09

Not very gifty but I'd take Appletiser.
Possibly Rose Lemonade ( forgot the brand sorry. Usually see it in Tesco)

mayblossominapril · 18/07/2021 22:09

I like the 0% sparkling wines, they are basically a sparkling fruit juice in a fancy bottle but they are not expensive

IAmAWomanNotACis · 18/07/2021 22:10

Belvoir, Fevertree & Fentimans are all nice alternatives. There are lots of nice summer flavours around at the moment. Personally if you can find a nice fresh traditional lemonade (as in flat, just lemons, water and sugar) then you'd be my best friend forever!

I can personally recomend fevertree's lemon flavour tonic, and their ginger beer as being wondeful for this heat.

If you can get hold of it Nomosa by sparklingly sober is lovely (they do others as well but nomosa is the best). It's got a proper kick to it.

I think you can get it in Lidl uk wide. It's the only soft drink I like that feels like a treat drinking it.

MissMissTorrance · 18/07/2021 22:11

It's Fentimans Rose Lemonade

fellrunner85 · 18/07/2021 22:11

If you have a M&S Food near you, their Fizzero is good. And I usually can't stand alcohol free wine.

BitterTits · 18/07/2021 22:12

Ooh Fentiman's dandelion and burdock would be my choice (but a bit 'Marmite').

Lotusmonster · 18/07/2021 22:12

I like Natureo and also Gordon’s 0% is fabulous!

butterfly990 · 18/07/2021 22:12

I was given a bottle of Thatchers non-alcoholic cider which was lovely.

tnetenba · 18/07/2021 22:15

I drink Belle and Co alcohol free sparkling rose, I get it in Asda for a couple of quid and it's a lovely treat.

whoknew23 · 18/07/2021 22:15

Belvoir, Bottlegreen or Fever Tree ginger beer

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 18/07/2021 22:15

Thank you all. I don't know why they don't drink alcohol but know they used to so would rather not take alcohol free gin (as a friend who is a recovering alcoholic found that these drinks make her long for the real thing). We'll not take alcohol for ourselves out of respect, will take sparkling water as we'd prefer that with a meal.
I'll make a note of all your suggestions for a 'gifty' drink and see what I can find in the supermarket.

Ah if that's the case a bottle of fizz wouldn't be appropriate either. Lidl do some lovely fruit sparking presse, there's an apple one that tastes like appletiser but looks more sophisticated.

spinningspaniels · 18/07/2021 22:20

I'd go for a really nice bottle of cordial. We had a lovely Elderflower and Lemongrass one the other day and it was really nice with sparking diet lemonade and lots of ice.

My uncle is a now sober alcoholic and is very funny about alcohol free spirits.... says it makes him crave the real thing.

Hen2018 · 18/07/2021 22:33

I’ve been teetotal for 23 years.

There are plenty of nice choices but they’re so overpriced we always get a bottle of Schloer!
