Am I not cut out for driving?

I've recently started learning to drive. I've had 7 double lessons so far and my test is booked for mid august.

No matter what I do, I always drive too close to the left, I drift in the road but I honestly can't tell that I'm drifting and to me it looks like I'm driving in a straight line and my focus isn't great.
Today I was driving with DH in the car and I was glancing at the speedometer when DH shouted and when I looked up, I was about to crash into a parked car.
I honestly feel like I'm never going to be a competent and confident driver.

Has anyone else been absolutely shit in the beginning and now a master on the roads?

Have you had an eye test? When I first took lessons, my instructor got me to sit in the passenger seat and he said he was going to drive how I drove. He had the car drifting. I usually wear glasses for reading etc. Became apparent I needed them for driving too. The looking at speedometer thing is something that comes with experience, knowing how quickly to glance. Lots of luck.

I do wear glasses but I haven't had a test recently so I'll get one booked in asap. Thanks for the advice.
I have ADHD so I'm being prescribed meds to help with the focus but I've not been given them yet and they take 6 weeks to kick in apparently.
