A-ha: Hunting High And Low
Erasure: Stop!
Eurythmics: Thorn In My Side
Pet Shop Boys: West End Girls

PSB in particular have been inventive and prolific and made many great records but in my opinion, they peaked very early with West End Girls.

A-ha - Take on Me (it’s one of those classics of the 80s that will always be associated with the decade)
Erasure - Respect (I have to admit I don’t know much of their work but that’s a banger)
Eurythmics - No More I Love Yous (that was the band and not just Annie Lennox, right?)
Pet Shop Boys - tie between What Have I Done to Deserve This (love Dusty Springfield’s vocals, so warm and lovely) and Always on My Mind (just the Best.Cover.Ever.)

Legends was Goth night on a Thursday!
The Ritz on a Monday was in a class of its own.
TheHac on a Tuesday didn’t have queues! Oh the sublime joy of seeing Morrisey just hanging out there in the cocktail bar……

I found it very hard to choose just one pet shop boys song!

PSB- what have I done to deserve this buts a close call with always on my mind.

Not really into the Eurythmics.

I bought the original West End Girls when it came out and was quite surprised when the remix appeared and became a huge hit.

Ritz on a Monday. Fantastic times with 633 squadron at the end. There's a Facebook group for that. Jilly's/Rockworld. I met my ex, DS1's dad there. He was gorgeous like something out of a band. The hairy biker types used to keep good order there, I never felt unsafe. The Salisbury. And I remember drinking a yard of ale in a certain time frame at Jabez Clegg to win a prize. Can't remember the prize though. And the phoenix too, I lived in the flats above it. A lot of it is long gone now. I'll stop now before I derail the thread.

Erasure 'You Surround Me' still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
Also love Respect, but that is wrapped up in all kinds of emotional turmoil for me.
Another love is Only You by Yazoo (massive Alison Moyet fan). I know I've slipped another band in there!
As for Eurythmics, where do you start? I also love Little Bird sung by Annie Lennox as a solo artist.
Never was a great A-ha fan.
