On holiday and forgot my HRT

So annoyed I forget to pack it and I'm out of the country for a week. I've used the gel/taken the tablet daily for 3 years so I'm not sure what to expect without it. Is a return to the menopausal symptoms I had before likely within the week?

I think you might tbh, you’ll probably have a bleed too! I dropped my esteogel dose for 3/4 days and had a heavy period the following week and flushes! My gp said any drop or increase in esteogel dose will have a knock on effect! 🙁

Where are you? Some places you can buy it in a chemist.

Bagelsandbrie · 18/07/2021 16:52

I had a bleed a few days after I stopped taking it. (I didn’t have any periods whilst taking it - I was taking the mini pill as well as oestrogel and utrogestan). I would contact a local pharmacy- as someone else has said you can actually buy it in many places.

Where are you? If you’re abroad places like Spain, Cyprus and Malta sell it in chemists behind the counter.

Oh no 🙈 None of those couple tires and not somewhere you can buy in a pharmacy. It's gel I've forgotten as I do have the progesterone pills with me, can't work out from
Google is I should still take that as I don't have the estrogen.

You should be ok for a week but might feel a bit crap so take care of yourself. Would keep taking the progesterone or you will have a bleed.

I usually end up with extra chin hairs if I forget it.

LizzieSiddal · 18/07/2021 18:27

Which country are you in?

Budgetating · 18/07/2021 18:57

Go and ask at a pharmacy. Explain. Save a picture of what you usually have. They will often give a tourist a weeks worth without the prescription.

TSSDNCOP · 18/07/2021 20:04

Not sure if this works abroad, but I had the Push Doctor app. They can prescribe by online appt and by looking up your GP records with your permission and email to a nearest pharmacy.
