M6 Scotland to Stafford

We are planning a trip South. We will have all day to get to our destination so I am looking for any hidden gems or things to stop and see just off the M6 on travel day. Does anyone know of any decent places to eat that aren’t the usual service station Burger King type places?

Tebay, Brockholes, tea/ coffee shops in Knutsford, Tatton Park, but avoid the end of next week as the RHS flower show is on.

Would you believe I’ve just read that c4 did a programme about tebay last week so I’ll look at that in the morning.

Tebay is lovely. Best services in the country and the food is great quality. Not cheap though and you may end up coming out with a whole load of pottery, relishes, fancy cordials and a ton of other stuff you didn’t realise you needed.

Tebay services. I prefer the Northbound one though.

Just a quick point that the Tebay restaurant doesn't open until about 7.15 am.
