At least you aren't me

If you aren't feeling great about yourself I want you to know you can relax in the knowledge that you aren't me.

I have chosen one of the hottest days of the year to finally start seriously tackling the mess that is my house. And I mean mess. A combination of very poor mental health and the birth of our first child has meant we have skated by doing the bare minimum to keep DS safe. He is not almost 20 months old so this is well overdue and it is making me happy but oh my god am I hot!!!!!

I'm sweating just thinking about the work you're doing! Good for you though, remember to take lots of breaks, drink plenty of water and have a nice bath when you've finished. Well done on making a start Flowers

But just think how good it will be when you finish! Seriously though make sure you drink plenty and don't go to mad.
I'm inside too, stuck in a top floor flat, no garden and can't escape due to isolation ( dd positive so not getting out of it)

Well done! Due to sensory issues including photophobia I can't go outside in this weather, and all I can manage today is sitting in a darkened room with the fan on.
Happy for you!

It's hard going. I'm starting with DS's room because at the moment it's not safe for him to play in. He plays downstairs. I want him to have his own little sanctuary though that he can play in and everything is safe. I probably won't get to bolting the furniture on the walls today but everything else should be good.

Make sure you keep hydrated and take lots of rests

I feel for you! I moved house on a super hot day last year, it was hell.

RainingZen · 18/07/2021 15:22

I hope you've got a nice bottle of white wine chilling in the fridge!

I spent the afternoon watching DD in an outdoor performance with her drama group. Baking hot. I might take housework over roasting sun...

I got DSs room looking lovely. He was with my mum today to let me crack on with it and he was so happy when he came back. Running about his tidy room playing with the toys I've put at his height. I'm pleased I did it but I feel guilty it got so bad. Still onwards and upwards.
