Which is healthier?

I have a bit of a diet coke addiction which I'm trying to crack.
Would squash topped up with sparkling water be 'healthier' than diet coke? For the record I know neither are great as they both contain dodgy sweeteners but which would be better out of the 2?

Could you try sparkling water with strawberries in?
Or mint? Or citrus fruit? Etc

Probably not at work

I would say it’s much better as a ‘transition’ to going healthier

Blinkthreetimes - the squash with sparkling water do you mean?

Yes, sorry. I think substituting it for squash is a good middle ground so you don’t just end up craving coke

WentworthPrison · 17/07/2021 20:40

Thanks

I think substituting one thing for anther neither of which is a healthy choice is delaying the inevitable. Could you take the highest estimate of how much coke you drink, reduce it by 1/20th to start with. Barely noticeable at first, what's a twentieth, but week on week continue reducing?

WentworthPrison · 17/07/2021 20:45

I could do that dudsville or I could give up diet coke entirely tomorrow if I could swap it. I'm not sure which would be best.

I think the issue with switching to squash is more the lack of caffeine. That will hit you hard.

I'd personally cut down until you get to one diet coke then start swapping the one diet coke for one something else, IMHO I'd swap it for semi skimmed milk as its filling and has nutrients.

Popcornbetty · 17/07/2021 20:53

I think the substitution is healthier and good middle ground.

WentworthPrison · 17/07/2021 20:56

I can't stand milk.

Could you get a squash with no sweetener? We drink Rocks squash.
