I think it is sweet. I always send pics of my dh to his mum, she takes great credit for his looks and why not he has her eyes! I send selfish to my own mum too, I have a habit of shutting my eyes so if I get a relatively decent pic with eyes open I will send it to my mum, she seems to appreciate it.

Sceptre86 · 16/07/2021 20:56

*selfies even

StevieNix · 16/07/2021 20:58

God I don’t know why I find that so disturbing.
Ewwwww that would seriously give me the ick!

viques · 16/07/2021 20:59

Does he turn his face to his best side and pout a bit?

Bryonyshcmyony · 16/07/2021 21:00

My dd in her 20s sends me selfies all the time

VerticalHorizon · 16/07/2021 21:03

Give it another few months and she'll be coming round to tuck you both up in bed... separately!

mm8989 · 16/07/2021 21:10

My DD sends me endless selfies. its ok, I love her.

HowManyToes · 16/07/2021 21:19

My siblings, nieces & nephews and my mum are in a WhatsApp group and we all send pics and selfies all the time. It’s nice to stay in touch.

@ItEludesMe

'Looking good' apparently Confused

He has always been an utter mammy's boy but this is something else.

Mammy. Irish?

Oh. I bloody love the Irish! Can I adopt their family if so! Or any other Irish families. I can cook. Clean. Clear up my own shit! Free to good home?!?

😂

DoorMatCat · 16/07/2021 21:20

Is it an Irish Mammy? There may be some level of guilt tripping in there!

XingMing · 16/07/2021 21:24

My lad is 22. I wish he would send more pictures. We're not estranged; we're quite close but his adult life is taking shape, and it will be some distance away from me, and busy.

Blossomtoes · 16/07/2021 21:26

@Midnightballerina

My grown up sons send me selfies & silly pics all the time..what's wrong with that?
Mine too. Can’t see the issue.
pollylocketpickedapocket · 16/07/2021 21:34

@TantrumsAndBalloons

Oh my grown up son sends me selfies, I love it. Didn’t realised it was such a weird thing to do?
It isn’t weird.
Sweetpeasaremadeofcheese · 16/07/2021 21:37

Haha that's so cute! I hope my boys send me selfies when they're big grown men 😍

LemonRoses · 16/07/2021 21:45

Why is sending a picture odd? Ours sometimes do to show us where they are or who they’re with. When our son is deployed it’s really nice. I can’t see a good adult relationship is strange at all.

MaMelon · 16/07/2021 21:53

My DM sends them to me! Smiling selfies for no reason. Or picture of my dad reading his kindle in the garden. Picture of next doors cat next to her foot was the latest.

I just open and close v quickly. But appreciate she just wants to stay in touch but maybe doesn't know what to say, no news etc. I don't reciprocate but don't mind her sending them (infrequently).

30degreesandmeltinghere · 16/07/2021 21:56

Many moons ago my then dh (in his 30's) was having a laugh one night and measured his manhood..
He then rang his dm to tell her the result!!
Blush
Poor woman!!
Some things a dm really doesn't need to know!!

MarsandPluto · 16/07/2021 21:59

Aww, I think it's sweet. Don't think it's any different to posting "selfies" on SM tbh.

Ifitquacks · 16/07/2021 22:01

Well loads of us don’t do that either!
MarsandPluto · 16/07/2021 22:03

At least he is sending it to his mum and not a bunch of randos on the Internet

MarsandPluto · 16/07/2021 22:03

Loads don't do that but loads do.

MarsandPluto · 16/07/2021 22:04

as well

cass5 · 16/07/2021 22:06

That is sweet, and speaks for a very close family relationship. I imagine 20 years from now I will love if my kids send me random pictures of them going about their days. The fact that he can laugh about it means he has a good sense of humour and doesn't take your critique the wrong way. If one day you have kids with him that follow their father's example and keep you in the loop of their lives you might be happy for it.

saraclara · 16/07/2021 22:17

I think it's lovely. And now I wish I'd done it for my lovely MIL who has Alzheimer's and is in a home 2.5 hours away. She'd have loved it, but it's too late now.
