He's just made me the most amazing cheese on toast I have ever eaten.

I don't know how he manages to make this simple thing into a thing of splendour, but its bloody epic.

Bloody. Epic.

Mine always brings me a treat back from the village shop even when I tell him not to.

He brings me a strong cup of coffee in bed every Saturday and Sunday morning.

He happily agreed to me having a tummy tuck + liposuction recently because he knew how much my awful, bloated stomach upset me.

He makes me giggle every day.

He always makes me feel like the most beautiful woman in the room.

Lovely thread. I'm recovering from surgery so we've had a completely different dynamic this week. He's lovelier than I ever thought- brushed my hair, helped me wash, cooked all my meals, done all my washing and disgustingly changed my drainage bag. It must be love 😊

BorderlineHappy · 17/07/2021 17:37

@Happyfeet1972 I was in hospital in February and when I came home he did loads.
So it's nice when they do stuff above and beyond.

AlfonsoTheMango · 17/07/2021 17:59

This is a lovely thread.

Mine hosted a lovely BBQ for us and some friends AND washed the BBQ afterwards AND put all the cutlery in the dishwasher AND sorted the rubbish

@HappyTimeTunnelDinosaur

Mine makes me the best tea in the world, even though he doesn't drink it!
Mine too. My grandmother told me not to marry anyone who couldn't make a decent cup of tea.

On the flip side, he ate the bag of maltesers that I was saving for an emergency. I'm considering whether to LTB.

Mine set up and took pictures of DGSs crib and highchair, posted them on Nextdoor, and gave them free to a lovely young couple with a tiny baby. He know I was too sad to get rid of them, as it meant no more babies in the house.

He knows me so well and I do love him to bits ❤️

Fucking hell some people really do have very low standards of men if they think these very innocuous non-events make him "amazing"

RosesAndHellebores · 18/07/2021 09:30

I think Frangipan it's a lovely, lighthearted thread that focuses on the little things that make a happy marriage tick over.

I forgot to say earlier, after dh tells me loves me before we go to sleep as we snuggle down he reaches out for a hand hold.

Yep.

He may refuse to do domestic work, ignore the DC, spend the entire weekend down the pub, be prone to violent outbursts... but he makes a mean cup of tea.

Some people really do have no sense of humour if they think that this is a serious thread.
Soubriquet · 18/07/2021 09:38

Mine gets me to properly relax on my days off. (He’s a SAHP)

So he gets me to go up to my room (we sleep separately), binge watch whatever tv I want, and completely chill out whilst he does what he needs to do in the house Grin

CarolinaWeeper · 18/07/2021 09:54

My DH has slept on the floor in DS's bedroom next to the cot for two nights this week as DS has been poorly and DH said I could then have our bed to myself and get some sleep.

Mine wins Grin

Yes @NannyAndJohn that's exactly what was said on this thread.

CounsellorTroi · 18/07/2021 11:13

Mine won’t let me do the washing up as it’s his job. He also cooks more than I do.

Ifixfastjets · 18/07/2021 11:21

I think mine could be a contender?
He knows he has a snoring problem...
Also, ge gets up at least 3 times a night to use the toilet.
He cant function without 3 cups of strong coffee.
He has been known to argue with a signpost (not kidding here! He wanted to walk down the hill, but the post said he needed to go up the hill. So he argued with it. Assumed somebody had switched it round. Anything...)
So he made the loveliest decision ever.
He moved 100 miles away with his mistress.

FrangipaniDeLaSqueegeeMop · 18/07/2021 11:55

Someone's husband doesn't make them cheese on toast

Thankfully for me I ditched him a few years back Grinhe was useless in general, but I never ever thought on the occasions where he went to the shops or poured drink into a glass that he was a 'legend' or 'epic' Confused would rather stay single than have a man and keep those standards 🙊

RosesAndHellebores · 18/07/2021 11:59

But it's the little things in functional and happy relationships that are being drawn on frangipani.

Anyway mine's 250 miles away at his mother's and has been since Friday. I have done sfa in the house all weekend but will have a 45 minute blitz when I get out of my bubble bath.
