I'm on my own and fancy watching a self indulgent film!!! Nothing scary. Maybe something smultzy or life affirming. Something the rest of the family would probably eye-roll at!!
We have all the channels/Netflix

Any ideas?

crosshatching · 16/07/2021 17:12

Jumping on as I want one too. I've the house to myself for first time in forever

I had a happy night with Eat/Pray/Love which ticks the above boxes.

The Holiday is another fabulous trashy film that the men in my life would be horrified by.

It's a teen film really but I like To All the Boys I've Loved Before on Netflix

Fivemoreminutes1 · 16/07/2021 17:17

Me Before You
A Star Is Born
The Peanut Butter Falcon

WhatLiesAhead · 16/07/2021 17:25

I've just looked all those suggestions up. I need a week on my own, they all tick the boxes! Thank you 😊

I recently watched Saint Frances, which was funny, interesting, emotional and life-affirming all at the same time. Best film I've watched for many years! I had to pay on YouTube but well worth it.

Enjoy your film night - we're going to watch Once upon a time in Hollywood!

Cheerio21 · 16/07/2021 17:39

My go to is always beaches!

JackieeWeaver · 16/07/2021 18:05

Green Book is life affirming. As Three Billboards in Ebbing Missouri. Also love Hunt For The Wilderpeople, not so life affirming but enjoyable

Darkchocolateandcoffee · 17/07/2021 09:53

Ohh yes Hunt for the Wilderpeople is FABULOUS - my children enjoyed it, too. Quite a rarity, one that both ages like.

Father of the bride

The other guys

or just start watching Brooklyn 99

Blabbyblab · 17/07/2021 10:02

Not life affirming but if you are into period films, I watched The Favourite last night, some great actors, with Olivia Coleman brilliantly cast as Queen Anne

Nuggetnugget · 17/07/2021 10:04

My go to is

About Time
Soppy and lovely and I love all the actors in it which helps a lot Smile
