Small / folding dining tables

Okay not the world's most exciting topic! But I'm downsizing and getting rid of my big dining table and chairs to family members as hardly ever use it.

Can anyone recommend a nice small dining table to replace it? Ideally one that flips down and has seats that can be stored away so the footprint is minimal.

We had a great one from John Lewis for years (two leaves that folded down, plus folding chairs which you could store under the middle section). I doubt they still do exactly the same one as it was a few years ago, but expect they have a similar one. I'll have a look...

Thanks, that's exactly the sort of thing I was thinking of!

Did it seat 2 or 4 ? I don't mind if it's 4 at a squash as unlikely to have that many people too often.

Oh brilliant, thanks! Very reasonably priced too, could easily get some nice bum cushions to go with it.

It seats four. Yes, bum cushions are a good idea - the only drawback was that the seats were a bit hard!

My brother had a very similar one but rectangular. Sat four very comfortably and chairs all folded up inside as well. They had it up against the kitchen wall just as a little console table type thing when not in use, or could just put up one side of it to seat 2 when it was only them. Not sure where that particular one was from but there are lots of similar ones if you google 'folding dining table and chairs'.

Seen a couple more options but quite a few where the table folds down but the chairs don't! Think I'd rather go for the foldaway ones, it'll be an occasional thing so I'm sure people can cope for an hour at most once in a blue moon.
