Help my cars been set on fire

I don't know why I'm posting really, maybe just support/ advice

This morning at 0530 my door was been banged on and honestly I was frightened. It's just me and my 7 month old. I was terrified to open the door. It's been a rough few years of abuse from baby's father, whom I threw out before baby was born.

Anxiously answered the door and my female neighbour, who I only know to say hello too. Anyway my car that is parked up the road is in flames Sad

Thankfully she called 999 before knocking for me.

It was in a complete fire ball and really quite scary. Its absolutely distroyed, I'm heartbroken as it was my lifeline. It had everything for baby transport, pram, car seat and both slings. Just utterly gutted.

Fireman confirmed it was arson and I don't have any issues with anyone but ex. What the hell do I do?

Have you spoken to police and let them know about your ex?

2ndtimemum2 · 16/07/2021 09:44

Oh you poor thing you need to give a statement to the police . Has your ex being harassing you? If he has its time to go down the legal.route and get a safety order in place. You also need to ring your insurance company and get the ball rolling.

Do you have enough issues with your ex for him to set your car on fire? That's quite some "issues" if so.

If not, it could be random, or mistaken identity.

BarbaraofSeville · 16/07/2021 09:46

Oh how awful. As well as talking to the police and informing your insurance company, you should ask your neighbours if any of them have any CCTV footage and ask them to save anything that looks relevant.

Do this today as sometimes it only lasts for 24 hours unless they pay extra for a subscription.

Oh no, that's awful. One of our cars was burnt to a cinder a few years ago, but that was an electrical fault. I can't begin to imagine how you are feeling when you know it was deliberate arson.

Oh no you must be devastated and a bit frightened I guess.

If you post the rough area you live you might find someone with a buggy you could borrow?

It had everything for baby transport, pram, car seat and both slings.

Are you on Facebook? If you post about what’s happened in any local groups I bet you’ll get donations for baby things. They might not be exactly what you’d choose yourself but could help tide you over.
