Anyone had success with this by Joe Wicks? I've lost some weight post baby (7 months old) through diet but I've stalled. I need something different!

A friend of mine had great success with it.

So I signed up.

It's incredibly complex in terms of food. The recipes have a lot of ingredients and trying to plan a shopping list was tricky.

So I never actually started the plan.

Which is a shame, but unless you do a lot of cooking from scratch and have a lot of ingredients in the cupboard it gets expensive and confusing

Thanks for your reply. Do you have any examples of the food? I do cook from scratch.

If you have an iPhone the app is fab. 7 day free trial too.

I paid for the plan and did one cycle. It was the same as absolutely anything, if you can stick to it then it works.
You could only get the diet and exercise plan for each 30 day cycle once you had submitted photo evidence and entered all the stats. I never made it to this point!
I still have the meal plan somewhere but I found it not very family friendly and no one else fancied any of the meals on it. The quick curry was just nothing like what I would call a curry Hmm
There were some things on there that were okay but I’m obviously a lot fussier with food than I thought and turned my nose up at a lot of it!
Anyway, in short, the exercise plan was not revolutionary, the diet plan was not revolutionary, you could definitely just eat sensibly and do one of his hiit workouts from YouTube 5 days a week and get the same results to be honest. If you stick to it!
It really is just eating sensibly (no matter the science they try and sell you, if you burn off more than you take in you will be at a calorie deficit which will lead to weight loss).
I wouldn’t necessarily say it wasn’t worth it more than I don’t think I was the right person for it.

Also, I cook everything from scratch anyway and we have a very well stocked set up cupboards, the only things I remember needing to buy was coconut oil and a shit tonne more spinach than usual Grin there may have been more things but I ate things from the plan that were basically modifications of food i would eat usually.

I have a health issue and so was given a sample diet and reduced exercise plan to try first & get medical advice afterwards. I wouldn’t say it’s complex and actually think it can be really family friendly if you are committed and stock up well in advance of starting. I wasn’t actually able to proceed to the paid for plan because my blood pressure fell drastically, but there’s nothing in it a healthy person wouldn’t be able to do.

SingingSands · 16/07/2021 13:07

My friend did it years ago and her results photos are featured in his first book. I was really proud of her as it takes commitment to stick to the plan - both exercise and diet.

Obviously it can be done, as thousands of people have done it successfully and made it work around family life, working etc.

Go for it!

Looking at the app version, does seem like there is a seven day free trial.

Friend is doing it. Lost half stone in a month. Recipes are good. You can opt for veggie, fish, intolerances.

If you want something to follow and not have to think, it does work.

Im trying my own plan and have so far lost and gained the same 2 pounds about three times! Not at all jealous of friend..

tigerbreadandtea · 16/07/2021 15:18

@MistySkiesAfterRain I would like to lose between half a stone and a stone, I think I will give it a go, nothing to lose

Just in case anyone is interested - I have started it and impressed so far. The app is really easy to use and the recipes are delicious.
