How often do you look in the mirror on an average day?

Me - while I'm brushing my teeth in the morning and at night, but I think that's because there's a mirror on the window sill above the bathroom sink. If the mirror wasn't there I probably wouldn't look.

When I'm putting on moisturiser and brushing my hair (once a day).

If I do make-up (rarely).

That's it! Sometimes I look and it's almost a surprise the person looking back at me.

I don’t

Joonio · 15/07/2021 20:36

Once.

Defiantly41 · 15/07/2021 20:37

Pre-Covid, just when getting ready for work and then when I washed my hands after the loo. Now it seems I'm looking at myself all day on Zoom calls, which has done nothing for my self esteem

gggrrrargh · 15/07/2021 20:38

Never really, but I don’t have a bathroom mirror. The only one I’ve got is a full length one in the bedroom which is a bit truthful about how much I’ve been eating over lockdown Smile

CaffeineAndNicotine · 15/07/2021 20:40

Never? I just pull my hair into a pony when its wet so I know it's fine.

PeonyTime · 15/07/2021 20:41

After brushing my teeth twice a day to check for sprayed toothpaste.
After brushing my hair in the morning to check to fly away hairs before work.

In a covid world - twice a week to do lateral flow tests for work.

I could probably do with looking in a mirror before I leave the house - i had a random person come up to me last week apologising for telling me my top was inside out.

Cooldryplace · 15/07/2021 20:42

Once when I'm getting ready in the mornings.

There's actually an (inherited) full length mirror in my office, which I really should get rid of. I actively avoid looking in it. I have a male colleague who looks close up at his eyes every time he comes in the office.

JMAngel1 · 15/07/2021 20:43

I have mirrors everywhere in the house - not because I want to look at myself but because they bounce light around a room and t hey make any room look bigger. So I see myself all the time but barely register it iyswim. I do look at myself whilst doing skincare/makeup in the morning and when I go to the loo just to check I'm not too shiney or dry eyed looking (I have very dry eyes which can look bloodshit if I don't keep them topped up with Viscotears).

JMAngel1 · 15/07/2021 20:44

Bloodshit Grin.
Bloodshot fgs!

LostThings · 15/07/2021 20:51

Once, and I only do that because I have too. Absolutely hate looking at myself.

Arsebucket · 15/07/2021 20:53

Honestly, hardly ever. Probably only a fleeting glimpse twice a week or so if I look up brushing my teeth.

Purplecatshopaholic · 15/07/2021 21:00

Probably more than I think I do. I have mirrors above bathroom basins, so habitually look in one when washing hands or brushing teeth, as well as when putting on make up, doing hair….

forfucksakenett · 15/07/2021 21:02

Never. I find it unbearable.

LemonRoses · 15/07/2021 21:03

Less when working at home. When away working, numerous times to check for panda eyes, tidy hair and splatters.

Mansplainee · 15/07/2021 21:03

When I’m getting ready in the morning, when I’m washing my face in the evening, and then after lunch to check I don’t have food in my teeth before I start my teams calls again.

Knittedfairies · 15/07/2021 21:06

Morning and evening, and once in the day if I'm going somewhere. I'm always surprised (shocked?) to see my mum looking back at me...

SimonJT · 15/07/2021 21:09

When I wash my face/brush my teeth/blow dry my hair, picking an outfit to make sure it looks alright. At the gym quite a bit to check for form.

Ughmaybenot · 15/07/2021 21:09

All the time, I’m a bit vain Grin but even more than usual at the moment as I’m pregnant for the first time and I just find myself completely fascinated by the changes.

CatFacePoodle · 15/07/2021 21:13

Quite a bit, but not because I am vain, I just have bogie paranoia.

TwoZeroTwoZero · 15/07/2021 21:15

A few times. We have a mirror in the kitchen and another in the bathroom and I catch a glimpse of myself quite often.
