What could this rash be?

I’ve come up with blobs of this rash in different parts of my body. It’s so itchy! I’ve been putting on aveno (the very dry skin one), but it’s not helping! I do suffer from psoriasis but I’m on long term medication for it and it doesn’t look anything like this usually! Could it be fungal?? Sorry for the gross thread!

Circular? Could it be ringworm?

ShowOfHands · 15/07/2021 20:33

Looks fungal to me. The circular one does look like ringworm.

That's ring worn

That’s what I thought! That can be treated with over rye counter stuff right?

Either ringworm or discoid eczema

waltzingparrot · 15/07/2021 20:37

Show the pharmacist the photos - he'll give you the right ringworm treatment.

I get this - it will pop up on my thigh every summer and disappear during the winter - and after years and years of antifungals and anti-ringworm treatments my GP was stumped, says it isn't ringworm but is probably some kind of sweat rash or eczema. So be prepared to be sticking some antifungal cream on for a while, but it may or may not respond!

irresistibleoverwhelm · 15/07/2021 20:49

Oh and you can try it with OTC antifungals like Daktarin and see how it goes.

Namechangeslump · 15/07/2021 20:52

I had some anti fungal cream in the cupboard I’ve just slathered on. It seems to be all over! Really bizarre and definitely in places where I seem to sweat a lot.. bloody hell i feel self conscious! Sad

Gp will normally try miconazole 2% or terbinafine if that doesn't work, so if you have either of those in an OTC cream just try that first and then make an appointment with the GP.

I wonder if it's plaque psoriasis. I know you say it looks different to your psoriasis but just a thought
