Anyone got experience of broken filling,?

My teeth are in really good condition but 14 years ago one of my molars snapped in half. No idea why. It was filled with mercury and it's been there ever since. Just been chomping a toffee crisp and a chunk of it has snapped off. It's really sharp and feels funny. No pain. Can't get an appointment for 3 weeks.

Will it eventually become painful? Or would it already hurt if it was going too? Thanks.

Teeth are so random.
I've had broken fillings and the pain has been incredible.
My last one cracked within 24 hours of it being put in, really painful before I had it put in, and when it cracked it was pain free.

If it gets too painful for otc pain relief (anbesol is really good) do call 111 and they can arrange an appointment elsewhere sooner, or if you have an emergency dentist hospital they will sort it quicker.

It could become painful but then it might not. Teeth are weird like that. Depends whether there is decay and whether the nerve is exposed.
