Have you ever met or been friends with someone famous?

I'm normally a bit of a lurker, but saw a thread where a poster had a best friend who was famous and it made me think about famous people I've known/met. So thought I'd ask - all lighthearted!

I met Ashley Banjo when he was a kid (I'm older than him) so I think he was about ten and I was a teenager, I was involved in theatre/dancing and dance shows and came across him once or twice. He was quite short at the time, so very different to now

I used to be friendly with Tom Hiddleston before he was famous.

I literally walked into James Macavoy once , he was very nice about it.

A reasonably famous comedian was my first boyfriend. I also dated a cricketer and a rugby player. Neither one household names, but followers of the sports would probably know them.

@SquatBetty Not much to tell! He was fun and charming, very focused. Gangly though and quite nerdy appearance wise, he's definitely grown into his looks! I remember seeing a photo shoot when he was starring in High Rise and thinking phwoar he definitely didn't used to look like that

Am friends with a very famous sports star. He's lovely but has a very selfish streak, which is pretty normal with a lot of successful people.

@clartymare he was very charming. It was about 25 or so years ago and my boyfriend at the time worked for Virgin Trains. Before he started up VFestival he used to invite all his employees to his estate in Oxfordshire where he put on a mini festival with a small fairground, live music etc. He let everyone camp in his fields and put bacon butties on the next morning. He also put in rowin boats to row to his house for scones and tea which was available in a summer house. He met every member of staff, talked with them and shook hands.

Not famous famous but I accidentally ended up on a date with a BBC presenter (I had never seen his program, so I hadn’t a clue of who he was)
