Has anyone found a cockatiel in the High Wycombe/Princes Risborough area?

Our beautiful boy decided to jump on DP's shoulder as he was going into the garden and took off. He's very friendly, hand-tame, standard grey in colouring and very much loved. We're totally devastated.

Try adverts in your local Facebook , also ring around local vets to notify them , hope you find him

tapdancingmum · 14/07/2021 18:35

Pop it on all the FB pages. I'm in Naphill so if you want to send me some details I can put it on the local pages.

Hope you find him (goes and looks in the garden) x

Thank you for replying. I've sent you a PM tapdancingmum. We've been contacting the vets and putting it on lost animal sites. Keeping our fingers crossed and praying he returns. Our house is too quiet and lonely.

Try your local NextDoor app. Mine has a few lost cats on it.

jarviscockatiel · 14/07/2021 20:20

Thanks, just put it on the NextDoor app. Really appreciate everyone's help.

Let's hope he is found safe and well. You live in a nice part of the world.

TenInSport · 14/07/2021 21:21

I'm on the local High Wycombe pages on Facebook if I can help at all!

littlelionroars · 14/07/2021 21:30

I live in PRis and will keep an eye out for him.

Definitely get posting on the community
Facebook pages.

I wonder if it's worth contacting Tiggywinkles (wildlife rescue) incase anyone has taken him there?

StellatheCat · 14/07/2021 21:56

I hope you find him! Our cockatiel escaped last summer, he was away for about four nights (in really terrible weather) but thanks to facebook we got him back! He was actually in the park by our house when we got the message that he had been spotted. The little guys are surprisingly tough! Good luck

jarviscockatiel · 14/07/2021 22:15

Thanks so much. I'll give Tiggywinkles a ring tomorrow. We've put him on quite a few Facebook sites and lost bird sites nationwide. I'm so pleased your bird returned Stella, it gives me hope that he might be found.

Put a shout out on Thame Bay (Facebook page) as that has a high number of readers.
Also Risborough Grapevine.

Rubyupbeat · 15/07/2021 07:09

Oh. I really hope you find him. Our little fellow died a few years back and hes still missed, he was nearly 20.

jarviscockatiel · 17/07/2021 16:26

Update: he was found this morning and we've been to collect him from Tetsworth 13.5 miles away! So so so grateful to everyone who helped in the search.
