I have received a notification through the app that I need to isolate for 6 days, this means my contact was on Friday.
On Friday I was unwell and had not been to work the two days prior. I attended work and sat at my desk for 5 hours before being sent home again unwell. During this time I had a 20 minute tea break where I walked in the grounds, alone.
I was only sat next to one other colleague and we are separated by screens - my workplace is deemed to be "Covid secure", I can only assume the ping has come from her as I had literally no contact with anyone else. My contact with her was separated by a screen at all times.
Initially we were advised that a ping generated at work could be disregarded and in fact were encouraged to switch the app off. It seems however that work may not have the actual authority to tell us we can disregard the notification should we receive it.
In any case I am signed off work until the 20th by my GP, but I was hoping to be able to take some exercise and get out in the fresh air which I obviously cannot do if I were in isolation. Normally I would suck it up as not knowing where the contact occurred, but due to the fact I was unwell I literally haven't been anywhere else
