I went to see the cult in 86/87.
I had 1 trendy pair of boots.

On the day of the gig, they broke.

The sole split left to right.

What was a girl to do?

I mended it with sellotape. On the outside (because I'm not very practical)
It didn't last to the end of my street.

My foot flapped the entire gig.
I think I probably wore them for another week or two after that too.
They were my only cool boots!

Oh no Roguey 😧, love the sellotape usage., very practical. Yet, strangely enough you never manage to break something you hate do you ?

I hated wearing glasses at school. I used to take them off, my teacher told them, so to make sure that I actually WORE them, Mum and Dad bought me a pair of trendy ish ones. (I didnt tell them I liked them at the time, would have been uncool.

Anyway, they broke. And they were adamant I broke them deliberately. I was grounded. For ages. My protests fell on deaf ears 🤓…gutted.

And my teacher told mum and dad I didn’t wear them, that should say.

I’d better say goodnight again, now my eyes are really closing …
