A level Mocks

Hi

I currently have an extremely lazy DS, not quite 17, in Year 12. He’s done hardly any work all year, no revision, and got D, D, E in his mocks.

Can someone tell me a good news story where their child turned it all around in Year 13?? I just wish he’d pull his ruddy finger out!

Did he breeze through GCSEs or the farce that was GCSEs last year?

Often kids need a wake up call. Maybe start very seriously suggesting horrible careers he could do with those A levels to give him a kick up the bum?

Try posting in Further Education or Secondary Education there are other similar threads there - you aren't alone.

Does he really want to do A levels, or did he do them by default?
If appropriate he could 'restart' at a college and do a BTEC instead in something more vocational.

He's not going to get much of a uni place on those grades...
