Gifts when leaving a job

Looking for some ideas for gifts to give my line manager/boss/assistant when I leave next month. I wouldn't normally but I absolutely love my team currently. Big boss is like my work mum, line manager is fab and I wouldn't have survived without my assistant! They are the best work team but we don't particularly socialise outside work.

Not chocolates, not flowers but it is still more of a token gesture than a big gift. All female age 50 - 65.

TIA x

Rather than a gift, I would probably write a nice thank you card to each of them saying how grateful you are to them for their support during your time there. If you absolutely wanted to do a gift, given you don’t socialise with them outside and you don’t seem to know what they would like I would go for a generic gift voucher or a bottle of wine.

I'll do a card anyway, just want something to go with it. I thought wine might be the safe bet. They definitely all drink wine, but I only know 1s preference.

No particular budget, but it is more of a gesture than a gift iyswim.

Depending on budget how about a subscription so they receive something for say 3 months - we got a former colleague a tea subscription recently.

bonfireheart · 12/07/2021 22:54

Is there something that you can get them that is budget price but has meaning?
Like I know my boss likes a certain cake, it's not pricey but over Christmas he said he couldn't stop eating it so I think if I got him that he would appreciate me remembering.

Otherwise ...
Chocolate
Biscuits
Candles
Book

bonfireheart · 12/07/2021 22:55

The subscription idea is really good actually.

I left my job 35 yrs ago and got various Annesley vases.
Still have them and use them

Dine in for two voucher from M&S?

ElderMillennial · 12/07/2021 23:27

Do you have an idea of what they'd like?

ElderMillennial · 12/07/2021 23:31

Flowers, alcohol, confectionery ate the obvious

You could go for something like pick n mix or brownies or cupcakes which is more unique than chocolates

A pen or a nice notebook? You can get a personalised parker for £10 I think on groupon

What InTheNightWeWillWish said. When I left my previous job I made a fun Smartshow 3d video for the people I socialized with a lot, it included pics from our meetings, some photos taken during company events and our inside jokes, but for someone I do not know that well I'd go for a voucher and a nice gift card.

ChocolateRiver · 13/07/2021 09:15

How about a nice travel mug or water bottle like a Chilli’s one?

ElderMillennial · 13/07/2021 10:17

Water bottle or mug is a good idea

Yes! Perfect!

Thank you, I knew it was worth asking here.
