Royal Mail have said they've delivered something but it hasn't arrived

Ordered something from ebay
Received a text to say it had been delivered so messaged my mum (she lives with me and I'm working elsewhere) to ask and it hasn't been.
Ebay have it noted as delivered too. Is ther anything I can do?

Is it definitely a Royal Mail text?

Theres a lot of scams at the mo.

I’d ask for the tracking number from the Eva seller and log in to Royal Mail (not by clicking the link on the text)

A long time ago I received a message that item had been delivered (with a pic of DH “signature” who was at work), I was at home waiting for said delivery and no way had it been delivered. I even went round the neighbours just to check. Turns out the delivery guy had falsely signed the Royal Mail / Parcelforce slip and gone back to the depot cos he was at the end of his shift!
Turned up the next day.

Could be a scam text? I recently had a realistic one from Royal Mail which I almost fell for when I pressed the link.

I had this the other week with RM. what they had actually done was left it around the back of the house in w weird spot where I didn't notice it, and hadn't put a card through. Have a thorough check around maybe?

Could it have been dropped in one of your bins or anywhere like a shed/greenhouse/garage etc. They have been known to put them in the green bin where I live, usually when it’s just been bloody emptied as well.

Okay I've put tracking number in and it's been delivered to somewhere almost 300 miles away! I've sent a screenshot to the ebay seller. Thanks all. It was only something for £20 but. . Well I wouldn't chuck £20 down the drain would I? :)
