Nice hotel between York and London?

I'm thinking of driving up to York and staying for a night, then having one stop overnight on the way back home. Can anyone recommend a nice hotel roughly on the route from York to London that is suitable for a family, ideally with a swimming pool? Thanks all

so I take it you'll be going up the M1 to York

You have Warwick to stop at - there is the ardencote manor just of the M40 at Claverdon, they have a spa and pool

Or The Warwickshire at Leek Wotton with spa and nice pool, the hotel is nice

that would be roughly 100 miles outside of London with another 150 wish to go

you can go from M40 to either hotel and then get onto M1 ia M69 or M42

I would have assumed A1 from London to York. Grantham? Oakham? Stamford? Cannot think of anywhere off the top of my head but Lincolnshire would be a good bet.

If A1, Orton Hall, Peterborough? We've done this journey many, many times and stayed at the Orton Hall on several occasions when the DC were little, usually on the way home. Not been there for a few years now. The decor was maybe a little dated but perfectly OK plus has a nice pool and lovely grounds. DCs loved it. Very close to the A1. Not equidistant though.

What's your budget. Nice is very subjective!

The George at Stamford. Or The Olive Branch at Clipsham. Both great.
