Has anyone bought either and know what the difference is, bar about £200???

Virtually no difference other than extra attachments with the more expensive one.

Pollypocket89 · 12/07/2021 18:20

Oh is that it? Not more powerful or anything?

OP posts:
TheFlis12345 · 12/07/2021 18:43

Nope. The more expensive ones are technically able to do more ‘flashes’ in their lifetime but the amount even the cheaper ones can do more than most people would ever need anyway.

I think I bought the prestige (the one you can use cordless too), I was tempted by the advanced (the wired one) but I’m glad I bought the wireless one as it’s much more convenient as I’m not restricted by a power point. Just an important tip, make sure you charge it every 6 weeks, I think or the battery dies and the whole machine stops working, I’ve heard of people making this very expensive mistake.

For me it has really worked especially on the face and underarms. The app is really useful, try and stick to the dates, I sometimes forget and then have to do a few booster treatments. I started with the underarms, just to test it out. I bought it from boots during a black Friday deal and they had £60 of points promotion on, if your not in a rush check out different places in case they have promotions.

I upgraded recently and the Prestige flashes again quicker than my previous Advanced model but that might be because it’s newer rather than higher spec. They might all flash that quickly now.

atracurious · 12/07/2021 18:52

I did a fair amount of homework and decided the advanced was the best value.

It's really good. I also like the Lumea app to remind me when I need to do it. One happy customer here!

atracurious · 12/07/2021 18:59

Amazon had the cheapest offer at the time, a flash sale last august! Think it was £250.

Hopdathelf · 12/07/2021 19:06

Boots also has really good offers from time to time plus points if you have an Advantage Card.

devuskums · 12/07/2021 19:07

Does it help with thick dark hair under chin? (asking for a friend 🤡🤥🥸)

I wanna know too
Pollypocket89 · 12/07/2021 19:20

Amazing thanks. It's the boots offers I'm eyeing up... With £59 difference I'm tempted for the prestige

I got the Prestige, would highly recommend....no more dark chin beard or 10 o clock shadowBlush

This might be helpful for someone considering getting a Lumea.

The Advanced is reduced on Amazon to £220!

Lemonmelonsun · 13/07/2021 10:21

Great thanks.

devuskums · 13/07/2021 15:38

Oooh just had a look @Lemonmelonsun if you sign up with Philips as a new member you get the Advanced for £187!!

devuskums · 13/07/2021 15:39

And you can try it for 100 days, if you don't like it you can return for a refund...

Lemonmelonsun · 13/07/2021 15:46

Thank you

Sportsnight · 13/07/2021 15:53

It worked brilliantly on my dark chin hair (but I’m “lucky” to have high contrast between skin tone and hair colour so can use it on the highest setting. I have very little hair coming through now.

Lakeshore6 · 13/07/2021 16:20

@devuskums where do you sign up as a new member? Is this on Amazon itself ?

devuskums · 13/07/2021 16:57

@Lemonmelonsun no it's on the actual Philips website

@devuskums, wow that's such a great offer. I've been tempted for years...... do those who own one think it's a real game changer?

devuskums · 13/07/2021 19:20

I have bought one! I have printed out the 100 day refund form too in case I can't find it if I need it. Apparently delivery on 3-6 working days...

Pollypocket89 · 13/07/2021 22:20

I ordered the prestige and got another 10% off!

OP posts:
Lakeshore6 · 16/07/2021 13:30

I’m so keen to buy a new one but I have an old version I pulled out the loft. It’s actually nearly 10 years old, and still charges absolutely fine 🤷‍♀️
I’m going to give it a go with the app this time and if I see results I will upgrade to something fancy 😂
